In for one. Thanks OP. Under $20 for VM Fusion 3 is hard to beat!

Been waiting a while for a great deal to get vm fusion - especially for version 3 because it's optimized for mac os 10.6 - snow leopard. I'm currently running vm fusion 2 on my work macbook just fine with snow leopard. But I wanted my own copy especially since I just got a free copy of Windows 7 Ultimate from an event.

Better than the Amazon.com Goldbox deal last week. I paid $26.99 there.

For you Mac heads, check out www.MacHeist.com for a free bundle of 6 software titles.

Can you get both the rebate and the upgrade? There was some language in the upgrade form about it not being combinable with any other VMware-sponsored offer. That sounds to me like no rebate if you do the upgrade.

I bought the Amazon deal last week (cheaper than the $40 upgrade on my existing copy). Sent in my upgrade form and was thinking of trying the $10 rebate after I get the upgrade. Don't want to jeopardize the upgrade, so I wanted to do that first.

I think the upgrade terms, say can be combined.

FYI do the upgrade to 3 by email, include V2 serial number and send PDF of your receipt. They will give you the V3 key in a few days

Do I need to install V2 before submitting for the V3 key? Because I am planning to buy MAC before holidays(waiting on a best deal ). Where can I find the serial number, inside the box or need to install?

The serial # is found on the disk envelope.

I submitted my upgrade via e-mail (they give you 3 ways: snail mail, fax, or e-mail).
Hopefully they process it quicker.

Doing the $30 upgrade before the "30 days after purchase" clause expire. I got the serial # from Parallels app that was part of the bundle from MacPromo earlier this year.

The best part about Fusion 3 is the importer. Apparently, it's a lot better than the importer in version 2 at sucking the contents of a different PC onto your mac. That wouldn't be hard to do.

Also, I guess they have Windows 7 support in Fusion 3. I bought one, because I had both Parallels and Fusion. It's a lot cheaper than purchasing the upgrade for Parallels OR Fusion directly.

How would I fill out the rebate form if doing it by email? Should I print it, fill it out, and then scan it in as a PDF? Or is there a better/easier way?

in for 1, thx OP!

don't forget 2% FatCa$h (58c)

great deal, since Fusion works better than Parallels right now in Snow Leopard

I bought version 2 in early August. Is there any way for me to get in on this upgrade rebate somehow?

I'd like to move to version 3 for Windows 7.

I also submitted my form by email. Anyone have any idea on when the V3 key is sent to you....Also, can I just use the trial version until I get the key, is it a full featured trial with a time limit?

Tripp1269 says they'll email you the new serial in a few days.

Yes, you can use the fully-functional trial in the meantime.

This is a great deal.

What puzzles me is that we users of v.2 can do this to upgrade for $20.00 or free, yet have to waste time and resources to do so.
Why can't VMware just offer and upgrade at the same price, saving our time, theirs (processing rebates) and the environment (packaging, shipping, etc.)?
