What this means is that Google Voice users on Sprint will finally be able to forward their missed calls for voicemail transcription! Before, sprint charged $.20/call.

Nice job sprint!

In a reply from a sprint rep, they said the change would be finished by 11/8/09. In case anyone wanted a solid date.

Here is the quote:

"To enhance our customers’ ability to access the services, including
Google Voice™ , starting 11/8/09, all Sprint price plans will include
free conditional (no answer/busy) call forwarding (*73,*74,*28) in which
the calls will be diverted to the voice mail automatically with no
charges and the unconditional (immediate) call forwarding (*72) will
remain $0.20/minute."

Thanks for posting this, as Google Voice's message didn't give me hope that Sprint would actually allow this so quickly.

There are some quirks for many where when the call forwards, it rings all phones you have setup on GV regardless if you have it set to go straight to VM or not. Gooogle is aware and are working on it. I suspect they will get it fixed by the 8th.

Was this something unique to sprint? I have had my voicemail forward to youmail or googlevoice with tmobile and straighttalk and never got a fee for it.

I wonder if we can use PhoneFusion for it since it is free and a nice user interface. google voice doesn't have any app for mobile phone
